Our Accessibility Statement
Neurodiversity Ireland is committed to making our website as accessible and inclusive as possible for all users, including disabled and neurodivergent people. Across Ireland and the EU, public sector bodies must comply with EN 301 549, which aligns with WCAG 2.1 AA, and maintain an up-to-date accessibility statement.
Our commitment
We aim to ensure the Neurodiversity Ireland website is accessible in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We design and maintain our website to support:
- Screen readers and assistive technologies
- Keyboard navigation
- Clear structure and predictable layouts
- Readable text and sufficient colour contrast
- Plain, understandable language
Every page also carries our ACCESS panel, letting each visitor retune the site to their own needs - text size and spacing, contrast and colour-blind filters, reduced motion, a reading ruler, dyslexia-friendly fonts, and more. Preferences are saved on your own device and never sent anywhere.
What we’ve done so far
- Used clear headings and consistent page structure
- Added alternative text to meaningful images
- Ensured links and buttons are clearly labelled
- Designed pages to be navigable using a keyboard
- Avoided flashing or time-limited content
Known limitations
We recognise some areas may not yet be fully accessible. For example, some older content may not yet have full alternative text, and some video or audio content may not always include captions or transcripts. We are committed to addressing these over time and welcome feedback.
Let us know if you experience a barrier
